09.02.2021 Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange Fevzi Çondur Conveyed The Demands of The Sector To Minister Pakdemirli in Joint Mind Meeting
Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, attended Aydın Agriculture and Forestry Joint Mind Meeting, which was attended by Chambers, Commodity Exchanges and investors who are skateholders of agriculture in Aydın, where Agriculture and Forestry (STK) Minister Doc. Bekir Pakdemirli was present.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Doc. Bekir Pakdemirli who came to Aydın for a series of visits, met with officials of public institutions and organizations and non-governmental organizations and held a joint Mind Meeting of Aydın Agriculture and Forestry (STK).
At the joint mind meeting, which evaluated the demands and problems related to the agriculture and livestock sector in Turkey, consultations were held on the steps, supports and incentives to be taken to develop future cooperation between the Ministry and the sector in agriculture and livestock.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Doc. Bekir Pakdemirli made important statements at the Aydın Agriculture and Forestry (STK) Joint Mind Meeting, where he met with industry representatives. Referring to the increase in agricultural revenue, sustainable agriculture, exports, investments and projects. Mr. Pakdemirli said, ''With our exports of 22.7 billion dollars, our foreign trade surplus increased by 5.5 billion and our agricultural exports increased by 5 percent. Our foreign trade surplus also increased by 9 percent.''
Assessed the Report of Aydın Agricultural Products
Mr. Pakdemirli stated that Aydın is a region of high importance with high product potential and added; figs, olives and chestnuts rank first in Turkey and second in strawberries, artichoke, cotton, citrus and black-eyed bean, and so that Aydın's agricultural product wealthy was exceptionally good.
Good News From Aydın
Minister Pakdemirli stated that the investments made so far are the indicators of what will be done. Aydın has received 18 billion agricultural support. In the past three years, the company has provided 2.5 billion agricultural support and investments, and rural development support with 136 projects, 70 million grants and 2,095 employees. Minister Pakdemirli stated, ''During the ninth application IPARD 9 call period, 16 projects were included in the scope of support, which was a total grant amount of 15 million Turkish Liras. The IPARD-2, 10th application call is ongoing with a budget of 1.2 billion Turkish Liras. I hereby promise to approve all of Aydın's projects. I hope that all our good news and good luck to our producers and the enlighteners.''

Mr. Çondur said '' Aydın needs a Directorate of Agricultural Quarantine''
Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman Fevzi Çondur asked for the establishment of a quarantine directorate for agriculture in Aydın province to the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Bekir Pakdemirli Doc. According to Çondur, the fact that İzmir has an agricultural quarantine directorate reporting to the Ministry negatively affects exporters and it is difficult for exporters to handle the bonded warehouse costs of returned products or those that will be re-processed.'' Exports of agricultural products in Turkey are of great importance. We request that an agricultural quarantine directorate be established in our province, as 70 percent of our dry fig exports are to be exported to Aydın. In the line with our request, the opening of the quarantine directorate of agriculture in Aydın will allow the product to be processed on-site, which will positively reflect on the exporter.''
Mr. Çondur, Requested for ''Increasing Licensed Warehousing Incentives and Support''
Emphasizing the importance of cotton, which is described as white gold, one of the most important agricultural products in the Aegean Region, Mr. Çondur made requests for increased incentives and subsidies in licenced cotton warehousing.
Mr. Çondur said that ''It id our request to expand licensed warehouse and make structural changes to the ginning factories so that they could benefit from licensed warehousing support, such as cooperatives and manufacturers,'' to Mr. Pakdemirli.
Sharing his impressions after Aydın Agriculture and Forestry Civil Society Institutions Joint Mind Meeting, Mr. Çondur said,'' we participated in the joint meeting attended by our Minister Bekir Pakdemirli Doc. I believe that it is a productive meeting where the proposals for the future of the sector are discussed. I would lik to thank those who contributed to the organization of the meeting before our Minister. ''
