10.02.2022 AYDIN CHESTNUT IS THE MAIN POINT IN THE WORKSHOP

''Chestnut Workshop'' will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Aydın Commodity Exchange Conference Hall under the coordination of Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture hosted by Aydın Commodity Exchange.

In our province, which has been registered as a geographical sign of the European Union by Aydın Commodity Exchange and has 33.5% of our country's chestnut production, the contributions of chestnut production to our region and our country's economy, the steps to be taken for the future of the sector will be discussed at the chestnut workshop.

The workshop, whose main theme is ''Chestnut's Past, Present and Future'', will be held in 2 sessions. In the first session of the workshop, which will be moderated by Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture Dean İbrahim Gençsoylu Ph. D, six different topics will be addressed. How to fertilize a chestnut, Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture's Research and Projection for the Future for the last 28 Years in Chestnut Cultivation, Important Chestnut Harms and Solution Proposals, Chestnut Cancer Prevention and Solution Proposals, Mechanical Harvest Opportunities in Chestnut Farming and Future Agriculture will be presented in this session. The second session will begin with the R&D efforts for Chestnuts and discusses the things to be considered and problems encountered in Chestnut Cultivation, the Efforts to Make Chestnut Flour, The Journey of Chestnut to Tables, Supports and the Commercial Value of Chestnuts.

Commenting on the Chestnut Workshop to be held at Aydın Commodity Exchange, Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, said ''The ecology, economy, production, product use, quality of chestnut, the branding process and R&D projects will be hosted by our stock exchange. This workshop will added value to both our region's and our country's economy and is one of the most important export products of our province. University academics, institutional managers and industry representatives will take part in the workshop, also.'' It will be a remarkable workshop for the future of chestnuts, stating by Mr. Çondur invited industry representatives to the workshop.
