The 15th Ordinary Electoral General Assembly Meeting of the National Cotton Council (UPK) was held at the Aegean Exporters Associations Conference Hall. During the meeting, which brought together all stakeholders of the cotton sector, important decisions were made to shape the future of the industry and new presidential elections were held.

As a result of the election at the general assembly Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of the Aydın Commodity Exchange Board, was unanimously elected as the President of the National Cotton Council with a single list presented for voting. In his speech after taking over the role, Mr. Çondur highlighted the strategic importance of the Turkish cotton sector and emphasized that they would work diligently for the sustainability of the industry.

In his speech, Mr. Çondur expressed the following:

"Cotton is not just an agricultural product; it is a strategic value that plays a critical role in the economic and social development of our country. With this awareness, we will implement projects that promote sustainable production models, ensuring that the common interests of all sector representatives, from producers to industrialists, are taken into account. We will work resolutely with all our stakeholders to elevate Turkish cotton to the position it deserves in international markets. On this occasion, I would like to thank our Chairman of the Board, Bertan Balçık and his team who have made valuable contributions to the cotton sector and signed important works during their term."

Agenda Items and Future Plans Discussed

At the meeting, the National Cotton Council's activity reports, financial statements, and audit reports for the past period were thoroughly evaluated. Additionally, the budget and activity plans for the upcoming period were unanimously approved by the members. Regulatory amendments included in the agenda were also discussed and finalized.

As part of the new period's work, it was decided that key issues such as sustainability in the cotton sector, improving production standards, and enhancing competitiveness in both domestic and international markets would be addressed. It was emphasized that collaborations with sector stakeholders would be made to develop innovative projects tailored to the needs of farmers and industry representatives.
