12.10.2022 2022/2023 Season Chestnut New Buy Ceremony Was Held at Aydın Commodity Exchange

The harvest season for Aydın Chestnut has started that is one of the important agricultural products of Aydın, registered as Proteted Designation of Origin of the European Union. Aydın Commodity Exchange received the first Aydın chestnut of 2022/2023 season from the producers at 250 Turkish Liras per kilos.

Aydın Provincial Directore of Agriculture and Forestry Ahmet Okdem, Directore of Custom House Musa Han, Speaker of Assembly A. Bahri Erdel,  Vice Speaker of Assembly Ali Cevik, Chairman Fevzi Condur, Vice Chairman Cengiz Ulgen, Board Member Yakup Er, Councilmen Mustafa Akdam and Mehmet Akdam, Chairman of Efeler Chamber of Agriculture Mehmet Kendirlioglu,Chairman of Kosk Chamber of Agriculture Veli Tuna and producers attended to 2022/2023 Season Chestnut New Buy Ceremony that realised at Aydın Commodity Exchange with Aydın Governor Hüseyin Aksoy's honors. 

Aydın Governor Hüseyin Aksoy, who made statements about the meaning and importance of the day on the occasion of New Buy Ceremony of 2022/2023 Season Chestnut, said that Aydın province is really wealthy in terms of agricultural production and ranks first in Turkey, is a city with chestnut production over 23 thousands tons. A significant part of this could also be exported. Various enterprises also carry out their activities for the processing and evaluation of chestnuts in different areas. It is so important for producers to get paid for their labor. Stating that first chestnut of the season was symbolically purchased by Aydın Commodity Exchange at 250 TL per kilo, Aydın Governor Hüseyin Aksoy said that 2022/2023 Chestnut Season would be auspicious. 

Fevzi Condur, who made a statement about 2022/2023 Season Chestnut New Buy Ceremony, said that the average sales figure of chestnuts was 29.51 TL. This year, the average price is expected to be over 35 TL. Stating that the expectation in quality and yield is good for this year, Mr. Condur said 2022/2023 Season Chestnut New Buy Ceremony, which we have held on our Commodity Exchange, has been held for all our producers, traders and provinces. 

The first chestnuts of the season were handed over by Bilal Okumus and Orhan Turkmen from Kosk, Davut Bayrak from Egrikavak, Metin Tulunay from Kuyucak, Mehmet Ozturk from Nazilli, Nuri Kaplan from Umurlu to the Aydın Commodity Exchange.
