14.08.2024 2024-2025 The First Dried Figs of the Season Received from the Producer

To support the production of dried figs, which play a significant role in our province's economy, and to encourage producers, the Aydın Commodity Exchange organized the "2024/2025 Season First Purchase Ceremony for Dried Figs," which was honored by the presence of Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat.

Symbolically, the first dried figs of the season were purchased from the producer at a price of 700 TL per kilogram by the Aydın Commodity Exchange.

Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat stated, "According to 2023 FAO data, our country ranks first in the world with 356 tons of fresh fig production. We have over 12 million fig trees in the country, with 57,000 hectares of production area. Our province holds 60% of this area with 38,000 hectares dedicated to fig production. According to 2023 TURKSTAT data, our province has produced 205,000 tons of fresh figs, which corresponds to 57% of the national production. Our province is in the first position in the country in terms of fig production. As the governorship, we would like to emphasize that we are always supportive of our producers and trade professionals in every stage of fig production and marketing, which holds such importance for both our province and the national economy."
