May 26,2021- Silver Medal for Aydın at the 14th National Natural Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Quality Awards

Mother and son who participated in the 14th National Natural Extra-virgin Olive Oil Quality Awards competition of the Zeytindostu Association with natural olive oil branded as 'Março' won the silver medal.

The 14th National Natural Extra-virgin Olive Oil Quality Awards, organized by the Zeytindostu Association, were announced at an online ceremony. İnci Özer, a food engineer who is interested in olive farming on the 40 acres of land in Balatcık neighborhood, Germencik district of Aydin and his son Egemen Yıldırım, who has studied the Departure of Architecture at Middle East Technical University won the silver medal with the natural olive oil they branded as ‘’Março’’.

Food Engineer İnci Özer, who stated that there are Aydın Memecik olive trees on 40 acres of land in Balatcık neighborhood of Germencik district of Aydın and that they are making eco-friendly agriculture by considering biodiversity said ‘’ we  applied to Aydin Commodity Exchange to use the Aydin Memecik Olive geographical sign logo, which was registered by Aydın Commodity Exchange and located on our land. Following detailed analysis after our application, we were entitled to use the geographical sign logo. Although we have just begun the journey of olive oil called ‘’ Março’’, we have taken important steps in terms of branding and won a silver medal with our Março Olive Oil brand by participating in the 14th National Natural Extra-Virgin Olive Oil Quality Awards Competition organized by the Zeytindostu Association. Özer stated that their goal is to participate in international competitions with the Março Olive Oil brand in the future and added that they are more encouraged and excited by the positive feedback they’ve received from testers and consurmers.

Özer, who stated that the annual olive oil capacity is currently around 5-10 tons, expressed his thanks to the cooperative president and employees who supported the production of quality oil  during the branding process by stating that they used the facilities of the producer cooperative located in Balatcik Village for the squeeze, and expressed his thanks to the Aydın Commodity Exchange, which approved the use of the geographical sign logo as a result of the analysis.
