16.08.2022 Aydın Commodity Exchange Received First Dry Fig From Producer

First Dried Fig of 2022-2023 season supplied to Aydın Commodity Exchange from the producers at 350 Turkish Liras per kilos.   

The first trading of dried fig was organized on Aydın Commodity Exchange. Aydın Governor Hüseyin Aksoy, Provincial Director of Aydın Directorate of Provincial Agriculture and Forestry Ahmet Okdem, President Assembly of Aydın Commodity Exchange A. Bahri Erdel, Vice President of the Assembly Ahmet Şenel, Chairman Fevzi Condur, Vice Chairman Cengiz Ulgen, Council Members Ali Avcu, Ali Cevik, Erkan Aslan, Board Members Kazım Günaydın, Abdülkadir Yıldız, President of Assembly of Nazilli Commodity Exchange Yasar Oguz Baysal, Chairman of Söke Commodity Exchange A. Nejat Sagel, Efeler Chamber of Agriculture Mehmet Kendirlioglu, Chairman of Kösk Chamber of Agriculture Veli Tuna and the producers attended to the first trading of organized, begining with the season of dried fig. The first dried fig was purchased symbolically at 350 Turkish Liras from Aydın Commodity Exchange.

Aydın Valisi Hüseyin Aksoy, give many explanations concerning 2022-2023 season's the first trading of dried fig, stated that Aydın province is particularly popular not only in Aydın, but also in the world for fig production. 57% of Turkey's fresh fig production occurs in Aydın. Excepting for dried fig, 85% of Turkey and %60 of the world grows in Aydın. So I would like to thank our producers, Aydın Commodity Exchange and Chambers of Agriculture for their efforts. I wish that the new season would bring prosperity back to our country specially to agriculture sector.

Stating the capacity of Aydın province for fig producing, Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange Fevzi Condur, wished the dry fig season to be wealthy and fertile for the producers, merchants and exporters. Mr. Condur added his saying they was received the first dry fig of the season from 14 producers at a cost of 350 Turkish Liras per kilos. 

Evaluating producers' expectation of prices for 2022-2023 dry fig season, Mr. Condur said that the average price for obtaining producers goods on our Commodity Exchange was 31 Turkish Liras in last year.  We do not declare a price on Aydın Commodity Exchange, but we expect that there will be exchange through the market at over 50 Turkish Liras when we analyzed previous year's average forex selling. 

Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange Fevzi Condur signed that The Ministry has not announced the studies related to the crop. According to the last year, 60,000 tons of dried fig registration were done by our province when 71,000 tons in Turkey. Thiis year's record will be around 90,000 tons as our prediction.

Stating Exported Fig to Europe, is analized in detail, Fevzi Condur added that they had no any struggles as to have alphatoxin and ochratoxin during the season. Products' quality and valuation will be increase when the producers keep the dry period low. We would like Directorate of Provincial Agriculture and Forestry to inform the producers, also. That's why, Directorate of Provincial Agriculture and Forestry organizes many education, which educate the producers in Aydın Provincial Directorate.

Mithat Akkaya, Hakan Adalı, Hasan Avcu, Hüseyin Nabat from Germencik,Durmus Gülmez, Mehmet Akar, Ahmet Akar from Incirliova, Ertan Metin, Musa Ceylan and Muhsin Kıyar from Egrikavak. Aydın Commodity Exchange received a total of 195 figs from the producers.
