The 2023/2024 Season Olive and Olive Oil Sector Meeting was held at Aydın Commodity Exchange.

The 2023/2024 Season Olive and Olive Oil Sector Meeting hosted by Aydın Commodity Exchange was attended by Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board Fevzi Condur, Assembly President A.Bahri Erdel, Aegean Olive and Olive Oil Exporters' Association Vice President M. Kadri Gündes, Aydın Agriculture and Forestry Deputy Provincial Director Ali Rustem Sanlı, Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture academicians, chamber/exchange presidents, agricultural chamber presidents and sector representatives attended.

Kadri Gundes, Aydın Agriculture and Forestry. Deputy Provincial Director Ali Rüstem Şanlı, Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture academicians, chamber/exchange presidents, agricultural chamber presidents and sector representatives attended.

Fevzi Condur, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aydın Commodity Exchange, 9% of the olive trees allocated for table use in Turkey are located in our city, and 88.8% of the table olive production in our country is provided by our city. In 2022, 938 thousand tons of table olives were produced in our country. Approximately 83 thousand tons of this production belongs to our province. 15% of the olive trees allocated for oil production in Turkey are located in our province, and 12% of Turkey's oil olive production belongs to our province. 

 In the 2022-2023 season, a total of 701 million 850 thousand dollars in olive oil and 184 million 511 thousand dollars in table olives in our country. Stating that the export was realized in USD, Condur province contributed 40 million 584 thousand dollars in olive oil and 33 million 228 thousand dollars in olives to our country in the 2022-2023 season.

Informing the participants about olive oil exports and imports around the world, Aydın Commodity Exchange Chairman Fevzi Condur included country rankings in terms of quantity, value and unit price. Condur said considering the export and import figures around the world, it has been determined that the export potential of Olive Oil in China is high and a report has been prepared. China has become an attractive market for Turkish exporters because it has a growing market for olive oil, Condur said. In this context, it has been seen that it is possible to export products to consumer segments with different income groups according to the appropriate price balance. In this context, it is important to manage the branding process of our olive oil that we will export to the Chinese market well in order to ensure that our Aydin Mecik olive oil is included in the Chinese market.

Condur said that it is important for companies to take part in the fair, especially in the food fairs to be held in 2024 - 25 and 26, in order to promote both our city and our country with our Aydin Memecik olive oil.
