18.10.2023 Aydın Memecik Zeytinyağı Applied by Aydın Commodity Exchange, Was Announced in the European Union

Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, which was applied to the European Union for name of origin protection with the reference number PDO-TR- 02802 by the Aydın Commodity Exchange on 24 September 2021, successfully completed the application processes and was announced in the Official Gazette of the European Commission dated October 2023 and numbered C2023/00384.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aydın Commodity Exchange Fevzi Çondur, stated that Aydın Commodity Exchange has achieved successful results in the work it has carried out regarding the branding of agricultural values ​​specific to Aydın province. The announcement of Aydın Memecik Olive Oil in the Official Gazette of the European Union is an encouraging development for other geographically indicated products. 

Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, which is obtained from the Aydın Memecik Olive variety and provides income to the city's economy, is a natural extra virgin olive oil whose color varies from green to golden yellow, whose fruit scent is intensely felt, and whose bitterness and pungency are evident.
