The Aydın Commodity Exchange (ATB) delegation, including Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of the Board, A. Bahri Erdel, Assembly President, Cengiz Ülgen, Vice Chairman of the Board and Board Members Yakup Er and Cihan Can visited the Edremit Chamber of Commerce (ETO). The delegation was welcomed by Ahmet Çetin, Chairman of the Board of ETO, Bayram Kayahan, Assembly President, and the chamber team.

Current Economic Issues and Regional Cooperation Discussed

During the visit, the ongoing activities of both the chambers and exchanges, regional cooperation opportunities and current economic issues in the agriculture-based industry sector were discussed. The meetings focused on challenges in the agriculture sector, producer support and sustainable development goals. Additionally, there was an exchange of ideas on improving the services provided to members of both institutions.

Fevzi Çondur, Chairman of ATB, shared his thoughts on the meeting, stating, "In these productive discussions with the Edremit Chamber of Commerce, we focused on strategies that will advance the trade and agriculture sectors in our regions. We discussed steps to offer more added value to our members and increase the quality of agricultural production."

Geographical Indications and Branding Strategies Discussed

In the second part of the meeting, the efforts of Aydın Commodity Exchange and Edremit Chamber of Commerce regarding geographical indication products were brought to the forefront. Both institutions were selected as pilot organizations by the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office under the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Project.

The benefits of geographical indications for local producers and opportunities for collaboration to enhance the promotion of these products on international platforms were discussed. Fevzi Çondur emphasized the importance of geographical indications in regional development, stating, "The promotion and branding of these products not only support the local economy but also represent our country's agricultural heritage on an international level."

Joint Steps for the Future are Being Planned

The visit laid the groundwork for future collaborative projects between the two institutions, with significant exchanges of ideas regarding steps to be taken, particularly in agricultural production, sustainable development and branding.
