21.01.2025 Aegean Exporters' Associations Business World Meetings Aydın Meeting was held at Aydın Commodity Exchange

The “Responsible Support Program” and other state aids carried out by the Aegean Exporters' Associations in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade in order to comply with the European Union Green Deal legislation were discussed at the “Aegean Exporters' Associations Business World Meetings Aydın Meeting” held at the Aydın Commodity Exchange.

The opening speeches of the meeting were made by Aydın Governor Yakup Canbolat, Aydın Commodity Exchange President Fevzi Çondur and Aegean Fisheries and Animal Products Exporters' Association President Bedri Girit. Aydın's strong position in agriculture, industry and exports was emphasized. While it was stated that 1.85 billion dollars of exports were realized from Aydın in 2024, figs, olive oil, olives, chestnuts and pine nuts stood out among the main export products.

Aydın Commodity Exchange President Fevzi Çondur introduced the “Bright Businesses with Green Transformation Project” within the scope of sustainable production and circular economy. Within the scope of the project, trainings were provided to producers and sustainability guides specific to the fig and olive/olive oil sectors were prepared.

Bedri Girit, President of the Aegean Aquaculture and Animal Products Exporters' Association, emphasized Aydın's leadership in agricultural production and stated that Turkey's exports of aquaculture and animal products increased by 11% in 2024, reaching $3.8 billion. It was stated that the main export markets of Aydın are Italy, the USA and Spain.

At the end of the meeting, plaques were presented to companies that have been exporting for many years, while officials from the Ministry of Trade provided information on compliance with the Green Deal and state supports.
