25.01.2021 Aydın Commodity Exchange Accelerates the Studies of PDO

Aydın Commodity Exchange Parliament Speaker A. Bahri Erdel, Vice Chairman Cengiz Ulgen and Geographical Indications Consultant Huriye Özener and Ak Party Aydın Deputy Mustafa Savaş paid a visit to Prof. Habip Asan Doc., Chairman of the Turkish Patent and Trademark Institution. During the  meeting, some ideas as to Protected Designation of Origin had critised.

About ''Aydın Pine Nut'' application file of protected designation of origin made to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office on June 19, 2019 under C2019/071.

Chairman of Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, Prof. Habip Asan Doc. has informed that they attach importance to geographical sign registration studies in order to increase the economic and brand value of agricultural products identified with Aydın. Aydın Commodity Exchange Assembly Speaker , A. Bahri Erdel said that we continue with more efforts in order to protect our spesific products to our province by giving importance to our local economy. Our priority is to sell geographically marked products at a price in value and to provide competitive advantages to manufacturers. On this occasion, our deputy Mustafa Savaş accompanied by our President of the Turkish Patent and Tardemark Authority Prof. Habip Asan Doc. Also we received information about Aydın Pine Nut, protected designation of origin, which provides an important source of income to local people and 60 % of our country's production is supplied from Aydın province. We would like to thank everyone who contributed in this process.
