24.09.2022 The Adventure of European Union For Aydın Memecik Olive Oil Is Getting Begin

Aydın Commodity Exchange, which regards Protected Designation of Origin studies in order to recognize  Aydın provincial agricultural products in our country and around the world,  has taken the first step towards the registration of Aydın Memecik Olive Oil registered by Turkish Patent and Trademark Office care of European Union. 

Aydın Commodity Exchange applied for Registration of Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, which was applied to the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office in 2019 and received Protected Designation of Origin registration on September 17, 2020.

Fevzi Çondur, Board Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, who stated that Aydın Memecik Olive Oil obtained from Aydın Memecik variety olives grown in the fertile lands of our province has an important brand value for Aydın province and its economy, made statements regarding Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, which was registered with European Union by Aydın Commodity Exchange. Çondur, '' The added value of Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, which is registered by Aydın Commodity Exchange, contributes to the recognition and economic power of our province on a national and international platform. The fact that the product has received Protected Designation of Origin registration ensures that the product is protected fom unfair competition and fake brands. In this regard, as Aydın Commodity Exchange, we have taken the first step towards the registration of Aydın Memecik Olive Oil before the European Union after Aydın Chestnut in terms of international recognition of agricultural products with special distinctive characteristics for our province and we have made our application. With the positive conclusion of the necessary review process at the European Commission, we will have protected Aydın Memecik Olive Oil from imitations and introduced our agricultural product wealth on the international platform.''

Fevzi çondur, Board Chairman of Aydın Commodity Exchange, who stated the products integrated with our province and obtained Protected Designation of Origin registration by Aydın Commodity Exchange will continue to work in the world market, to Huriye Özener, who is conducting our consultancy in preparation for the application for the European Union registration of Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, Aydın Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Agriculture Department of Horticulture, Department of Fruit Cultivation and Breeding Prof. He expressed this thanks to Dr. Engin Ertan and everyone who contributed and wished the members of Aydın Commodity Exchange and our province the best.

Aydın Memecik Olive Oil, known as natural extra virgin olive oil, which is obtained from Memecik variety olives grown in Aydın province, whose color varies from green to golden yellow, where the smell of fruit is felt intensenly, whose bitterness and pungency is evident, is also rich in luteloin and sterol content.
